Back in 2013, Chong Chin Yee had just completed a Diploma in Pharmacy from a local higher learning institution and was unsure of what she plans to do with her life. Wanting to fulfil her dreams of obtaining a degree, and at the same time, looking for a change of pace and different learning environment, she enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology programme at QIU.
Being forward thinking, she had her eye on working as a Medical Representative when she graduates. Having gathered intelligence from her friends and doing a thorough research, she was confident QIU was the right choice to pursue her degree.
Unlike her diploma studies, she relates her experience studying at QIU as a real eye opener. She was inculcated with critical thinking methods and problem-solving techniques that played a paramount role in her career as a medical representative. For the past 3 years, Ms Chin Yee has been employed as Product Specialist with Delfi Marketing, a job she is thoroughly enjoying at the moment.
Seeing Ms Chin Yee’s success, her little sister, Chong Hui Yee was moved to follow in her sister’s footsteps. In April 2020, Ms Hui Yee, enrolled for our Bachelor of Biotechnology following her completion of Foundation in Science with QIU. Currently in her 2nd semester, Ms Hui Yee describes her classes that are held online, to be very engaging and interactive.
She hopes to secure a job in the research field upon completing her Bachelor’s degree.
We congratulate the Chong siblings for making the right choice in joining QIU as we ensure our graduates hit the ground running equipped with the necessary skills to contribute from day one of their employment.
