The MBBS students of Quest International University Perak (QIUP) did the University proud when the girls team were crowned as champions of the Futsal tournament at the recent Avicenna 7th Inter-Medical Varsity Debate & Sports competition.
Playing at University Malaya, the QIUP team beat University Science Islam Malaysia (USIM) by a scoreline of 5-1. It was a very keenly contested match which saw both sides playing very hard but eventually the determined QIUP team won the match.
On hand to witness the win was QIUP Chief Operating Officer, Mr Nicholas Goh who was very pleased with the performance of the team. He stressed that QIUP is focussed on building an all rounded student and will continue to support its students participation in competitions such as this while they study at the University.
QIUP’s Q Care Club (QCC) consisting of MBBS students sent 3 futsal teams and 2 debate teams for this competition. Dr. Kay Khine Nyo, the adviser of QCC emphasized that this championship was a milestone for the year 2014. She said that she was so thrilled when the organizers, University of Malaya officially announced the champions among over 80 teams from 32 private and public medical universities of Malaysia and National University of Singapore at the prize giving and closing ceremony in the sixth residential college of University of Malaya.
Well done to the team and we hope to see more victories in the future.
