Quest International University Perak (QIU) today had the pleasure of hosting a delegation of 24 school counsellors and members of the Ministry of Education from Brunei Darussalam who were on a tour of higher education institutions in Malaysia.

Also present during the visit to QIU was Cikgu Sophan Bin Afandi, attaché Education and Cultural from the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam in Malaysia.

QIU Registrar, Mr Muhammad MG Omar presented on the topic “Industrial Revolution 4.0: New Technologies & Teaching Methods” which was very relevant to the school counsellors on how to prepare students to face new challenges in the future.

Mr Omar touched on topics such as the disappearing jobs and uncertainties versus new opportunities. He also shared how QIU is changing its approach to prepare students for the future through its innovative curriculum, teaching and learning methods and student assessment.

He explained how QIU’s approach has now reaped positive results through students who have brought in various accolades by winning local and international competitions.

It was a very informational session as the audience had the opportunity to share their thoughts and feedback. The delegation was then taken on a tour of the university facilities and finally had their lunch at the university’s very own fine dining restaurant, Envee where they were treated to sumptuous food prepared by the Hospitality students.

We take this opportunity to thank the school counsellors for visiting us.
