As a responsible institution of higher learning, QIU is always excited to play a role in spreading awareness of the latest developments and innovation in different industries.
The Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with Gaia Science and a team of pharmaceutical experts, conducted a certificate course on Natural Products Extraction, Emulsion and Cosmetic Formulations on Oct 17 and 18.
Held at Penang’s Malaysian Insititute of Pharmaceuticals and Nutraceuticals, the course covered new information and insight into product performance. It also delved into the cosmetic product development process, pharmaceutical formulations, microwave-assisted extraction and chemical synthesis.
The course also included hands-on practical sessions, which enabled participants to incorporate the information received in the creation of their own cosmetic products.
More than 40 participants from various institutions and organisations took part, including representatives from Thailand’s Prince of Songkla University, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Marina Pharmacy, Georgetown Pharmacy, Unison Nutraceuticals, Bionutricia Manufacturing, Nature Herb Creation and Luminous Skincare.
