The Faculty of Medicine of Quest International University Perak (QIUP) recently hosted a meet up for Adjunct Lecturers and its Faculty members with the objective of creating synergy between its teaching staff. Held at the University, this event was the second of its kind and served to orientate new faculty and adjunct members as well as keep adjunct lecturers abreast of the latest happenings at the University.
The session proved very beneficial as it gave the adjunct lecturers the opportunity to get to know QIUP better. The programmes kicked off with a welcome address from the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr. Raman Narayanasamy. This was followed by an address from the Chief Operating Officer, Mr Nicholas Goh.
Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Professor Dr. Alam Sher Malik then took the opportunity to brief everyone about the MBBS programme at QIUP including the curricula and what QIUP aims to achieve with its future doctors.
A feedback session was also held over dinner where QIUP staff were briefed about the performance and attitude of the students under the supervision of the adjunct lecturers. Feedback received was very positive as they felt QIUP students were prepared very well and adapted easily to the hospital environment. QIUP also gave feedback of the students to the adjunct lecturers where students were very grateful to them for sharing their experience and imparting knowledge to them.
As this meet-up was held during the month of Ramadan, an Iftar event followed after the session where adjunct lecturers and faculty members with their families broke fast together. It was indeed a memorable event for both parties and surely strengthened ties between everyone.
