The QIUP Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) programme is a four-year full time, and six-year part time programme which was designed with a specific purpose in preparing the graduates to become managers and accountants of value. This programme also offers a window of opportunity to those who want to build their career in the high-demand accounting profession. This degree programme is designed to equip graduates with an in depth understanding in the areas of accounting and finance such as financial accounting, assurance, taxation, corporate finance and financial management.


Graduates from this programme will gain valuable hands-on experience through attachment to industry and businesses in a staggered manner as part of their practical training. The curriculum content is tailor-made according to the specification set by professional bodies such as MIA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA (Australia) and MICPA. This programme thus prepares the graduates for a wide range of career possibilities in the accounting and finance industry including the “Big Four” accounting firm.

Examinations Requirements
Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 2
Equivalent English Proficiency for International Students:
IELTS Score 5.5            TOEFL PBT 550
Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) Pass STPM or equivalent with a minimum of Grade C+ (NGMP 2.33) in any two (2) subjects; credit in Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level
Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) Pass with a mimimum grade "Jayyid"; credit in Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level
A-Level Pass in two (2) subjects; credit in Mathematics and pass in English at O level (or equivalent)
Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) A minimum of grade B in five (5) subjects; Mathematics and pass in English
Foundation (or equivalent) A minimum CGPA 2.50; credit in Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level (or equivalent)
Diploma Pass in Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.50 with credit in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level (or equivalent)
Other Qualifications Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government

Full-time: 4 years
Part-time: 6 years

Students’ ability is gauged both through continuous assessment and a final year exam. The continuous assessment comprises tests / quizzes, mid-semester examinations and projects / assignments which accounts for an allocation of about 40% – 50% of the coursework marks. The balance of the marks is allocated for the final examination.
