Quest International University Perak (QIU) is a private and comprehensive research-led University established by Global Integrated Training Associates Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Blair Education Services Sdn. Bhd.) in the State of Perak, Malaysia on 12th June 2008 with equity participation by Perak State Government. | ||||||||||||||
Where are we located? | ||||||||||||||
The University is currently operating from a campus along and off Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun (Jalan Kampar) in Ipoh City. At the campus, three (3) buildings accommodate the University’s administration and academic facilities, of which one is exclusively for the Medical Faculty. All relevant laboratory and teaching facilities with state-of-the-art equipment are available at the interim campus for the conduct of the University’s inaugural programmes. | ||||||||||||||

What are the amenities around QIU? | ||||||||||||||
QIUP is currently located in the centre of Ipoh City. Some of the amenities available near the campus are The Store hypermarket, Chinese temples, churches, various banks, restaurants and food outlets, Medan Gopeng Bus Terminal, Local Bus Terminal, Perak Community Specialist Hospital and Pekan Baru Police Station.

What are the modes of transport available for students to get to other places? | ||||||||||||||
QIU is easily accessible via public transportation such as buses and taxis. Medan Gopeng Bus Terminal and Local Bus Terminal are located within 2 to 3 km from the campus. The train station is about 10 mins. away. | ||||||||||||||
What are the facilities currently available in the campus? | ||||||||||||||

Which Universities are collaborating with QIUP? | ||||||||||||||
Currently, the University has collaboration agreements with 2 Universities in India namely: KLE University, Belgaum International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad This agreement allows for staff exchange, staff training, student internship and assistance for curriculum development. Efforts are underway to have articulation agreements with Universities in other countries including Australia, UK and US. |

When are the intakes? | ||||||||||||||

When is the closing date for each intake? | ||||||||||||||
For each intake, following the registration, there will be “Student Orientation” activities for one week. Lectures will start after the Orientation Week and the closing date for the intake will be two weeks after commencement date. | ||||||||||||||
What is the medium of instruction at QIUP? | ||||||||||||||
The medium of instruction at QIU is English. | ||||||||||||||
What about the class sizes? | ||||||||||||||
For the Foundation Programme, classes are designed to accommodate a maximum of 25 students to encourage active class participation and promote meaningful interactions between students and lecturers. Classes for Degree Programme can accommodate up to 60 students. | ||||||||||||||
Who are your lecturers? | ||||||||||||||
QIU’s lecturers are well qualified academics with recognised academic qualifications and experience. They comprise of locals and foreigners. | ||||||||||||||
Are you open on weekends? | ||||||||||||||
During non-intake periods, we are closed on weekends. However, during intake periods we are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am – 2.30pm (Local time) | ||||||||||||||
What are your operational hours? | ||||||||||||||
Our office opens from 8.30am – 5.30pm on weekdays and closed on weekends. Please note that we shall be open 7 days a week during intake periods. | ||||||||||||||
Are internships arranged or made available while studying at QIUP? | ||||||||||||||
Internships are a compulsory element in all our Degree Programme and the University will assist in arranging the internships. |
How can a student make an application? |
To begin the admission process, kindly fill up and submit an Application Form to the University. To avoid delays, please ensure that all required information is provided. You may obtain an Application Form from the Student Recruitment Division at the University or apply online through our website www.qiup.edu.my. |

When is the closing date for applications? |
Applications take place throughout the year for the Foundation Programmes with three intakes in April, July and September. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as they have their actual results. However, for the Degree Programmes there are only three intakes per year i.e. April/ May, June/July and September/ October. |

Are we supposed to pay the tuition fee on the day of registration itself? |
Yes, you can or you may pay it earlier to ensure that your place is secured in the University. |
What is the mode of payment for the tuition fees? |
QIU provides a variety of methods of payment such as cash, money order and postal order. Payment can be made to “Quest International University Perak” under CIMB Bank Account Number: 082500001953103. |
How often do I need to pay the tuition fees and how much do I need to pay each time? |
The tuition fees can be paid per semester/term and the amount will depend on your programme. (Please refer to Fee Schedule when you visit the University website or email us). |
What if I intend to apply for credit transfer? |
You can only apply for credit transfer upon admission. This should be dealt directly with the Faculty/Centre concerned. A briefing on credit transfer will be given by the Faculty/Centre during the Orientation Week. |
What are the supporting documents that I need before I submit my application? |

Does QIU provide hostel accommodation for students? If yes, where are the hostels located? | |||||||||||||||
Yes. QIU does provide hostel accommodation at Alpine Village, Sunway City located about 10 km from the University. | |||||||||||||||

The accommodation is just about 10 kilometres away from the campus. It may take about 20 minutes by car. | |||||||||||||||
What are the facilities in the hostels? | |||||||||||||||
Alpine Village Apartment is located at Sunway City, Ipoh. Sunway City Ipoh is the single, largest integrated township in Perak spanning 1,400 acres. The gated residential enclave offers a quality living experience for students and is in close proximity to Giant Hypermarket and The Lost World of Tambun Water Park.

Is the security of the hostel at optimum standards? | |||||||||||||||
Yes, there is a security post at the hostel’s entrance with security guards strictly monitoring strictly movements of vehicles in and out of the area. There is also a hostel warden to monitor the movement of students in the hostel and QIU has also stationed its own guards to assist the warden to monitor all the hostel units. | |||||||||||||||
Can the parents, friends, or relatives visit the students? | |||||||||||||||
Yes, they can, upon registering as visitors at the security post and with permission of the security guards. But visitors are strictly forbidden to enter residential blocks of the opposite sexes. Arrangements have been made at the main lobby / wi-fi room for parents to meet their children. | |||||||||||||||
Can the students cook in their hostels? | |||||||||||||||
Yes, some light cooking is allowed. | |||||||||||||||
Can I choose my housemates? | |||||||||||||||
Yes. You may submit your request for the hostel management’s consideration. | |||||||||||||||
What is the cost of living at Ipoh city? | |||||||||||||||
Depending on personal lifestyles, the cost of living in Ipoh City ranges from RM300 – RM400 (excluding accommodation) per month. |
