Student Affairs Division

Position: Student Counsellor

 

Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures in relation to the operations of the counselling services
    • Plan and implement professional counselling services
    • Manage confidential case notes, counselee database, and maintain statistics and proper records
    • Provide individual and group counselling services
    • Implement mechanisms for tracking and monitoring the effectiveness of counselling services
    • Organise and facilitate talks, seminars and student development programs on areas relevant to the student’s personal and academic needs, including soft skills
    • Assist the Student Affairs Department/Centres and Faculties in all matters relating to students and other administrative assignments

Requirements:
Essential:

    • Licensed and registered practising counsellor
    • Possess qualifications in psychological counselling with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, or Masters in Counselling Psychology, or any other professional qualification or its equivalent
    • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in a similar capacity in counselling adolescents/young adults
Student Recruitment Division
Position: Digital Marketing Specialist

The specialist will work closely with the student recruitment team and Creative and Digital Media team and university stakeholders to implement marketing campaigns and initiatives, ensuring alignment with goals and priorities. The specialist is responsible for project implementation of a range of digital activities; i.e. adverts Google Display Ads, Facebook & Instagram Advertising,  with a focus on driving continual improvements in web content, functionality, the user experience, web traffic, inquiries, and student applications. 

Job Requirements:

  • The successful candidate with 3-5 years’ experience managing, tracking and optimizing digital marketing campaigns and writing for the web and social media; experience with content management systems,  a proven record of quantitative and analytical expertise, creative problem-solving skills and strategic execution; strong knowledge of best practices for search engine optimization (SEO); excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated success managing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced environment; and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Position: Webmaster

The Webmaster will oversee the organization, design, and functionality of the University Website.  The Webmaster ensures the coordinated development, communication, and implementation of web projects, policies, and procedures, and collaborates with university departments and web users to understand and meet the information needs of University constituents and other users.

Job Requirements:

  • Assumes responsibility for the QIU website by planning, organizing, evaluating, and developing resources, making recommendations for the overall site regarding design, security, upgrades, and technical issues, monitoring the sites and gathering information from the various university units to make refinements based on changing technology, user expectations, and web trends, and assisting with the promotion of the University website in key search engines, journals, books, and directories.
  • Creates secure online forms, generates reports, and manages access for approved internal users.
  • Helps to assure an informative, accurate, and interesting presence on the web by adhering to University web policies and protocols when necessary, designing and adding new web pages, modifying and updating existing web pages, maintaining current links, and performing other duties related to web development and maintenance.
  • Ensures coordinated implementation of web projects by communicating clearly with departments, attending meetings and representing the interests of the University website, and responding to inquiries.
  • Ensures the optimal look, feel, and usability of the sites as well as the consistency and timely availability of pages released to the site by planning and reviewing the navigational user interface design and information site architecture, working collaboratively with programming areas, and understanding the target audience and their information needs.
  • Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses.
  • Candidates must possess a bachelor degree in the related field.
  • An understanding of HTML, Java scripting, and streaming technologies is preferred.
