Experiential
Learning through a steady stream of real-world projects is how we believe students learn best

MEET THE INDUSTRY FRANCHISEES
Learning and doing are intertwined. Our MBA students had the chance to interview Mr Fairuz Iqma Zubir and Ms Liyana, franchisees of McDonalds and Dave’s Deli respectively. This learning was two pronged: it enabled MBA students the opportunity to carry out qualitative interviews while learning about the franchising journey – the arduous foundational effort put in by franchisees and the challenges of sustaining the business

HIGH-5 ACADEMY
An ideal way of learning about strategy and strategic management at the MBA level is to take up a real-world case study. QIU’s MBA students who were taking a course on strategy did exactly that to fulfil part of their course requirements. The students visited the Hi-5 Academy tuition centre to generate bold new strategies for the business. At the end of the course, the students presented two competing proposals on ways to take the business forward.
Engagement
Learning with industry and academia, whether in or outside the classroom, is essential to sensing the needs of current businesses.

MR. CHANDRA BOSE
Regional Manager of Biosensor Interventional Mr Chandra Bose enlightened our students on how Performance Management can be the lynchpin of effective people-management processes.

Mr Sam Kon
Mr Sam Kon, Lazada Club Perak Trainer and Seller Ambassador, took the MBA students through a ‘psychology of e-commerce’ group activity.
THE PITCHA PROJECT
Lim Yuet Kim (aka “Kim” Musician, composer, conductor, the guitarist behind “Ola Bola” and the Co-founder of The Picha Project, The Picha Project) took us through the exciting journey of starting a social business called The Picha Project (now PichaEats) and the social issues addressed by their successful food catering business
