The Crop Production and Precision Agriculture Research Group was established with the goal to address the current challenges in agriculture by developing sustainable low cost, innovative and accessible technologies for farmers and the industry.
The CPPARG consists of a multidisciplinary team of researchers, information technologist industry players and farmers that are engaged together to research the possibilities of integrating the latest technologies (sensors, drones, analytics and IoT) into agricultural practices to make farming more resilient, productive, profitable and environmentally-friendly.
The group is focused on the incorporation of technologies in managing variabilities such as nutrient content, pH, temperature and moisture levels in various cropping systems. Various data are gathered, processed and analysed to support management decisions for improved resource use efficiency, enhanced productivity and maximised economic returns.
