Industry and Teaching Experience:

  • 13 years of industry experience, primarily in sales and management. He has worked in four companies giving him a considerable exposure to different organisational cultures and different ways of organising and managing. Specifically, he has served in three multinational companies, namely Johnson and Johnson (Medical) Malaysia and Eli Lilly (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., Seagate Industries (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., and in an entrepreneurial establishment.
  • Subjects taught in the postgraduate and undergraduate levels: Professional and Organisational Development, International Leadership, Leadership and Change and in Leading, Managing and Developing People, Organisational Behaviour, Sales Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Business Ethics, Research Methods, Critical Thinking.

Research Interest:

  • The value of stories and narratives in leading and managing.
  • Models of leading, managing and organising in a humanistic manner.
  • Spiritual well-being in the workplace, in the meaning and purpose of work, and in the intersection between personal and professional values.
  • Qualitative (interpretive) methodologies, particularly narrative inquiry.
