A university is so much more than a mere educational institution – it must be a centre of learning, evolution and innovation for the community it serves.

QIU has always strived to create transformative partnerships with public and private parties to achieve this goal, and today marked another milestone as the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Digital Perak Corporation Holdings (DPCH).

The agreement was signed at the Digital Perak Corporation Holdings launching ceremony today, with QIU Chief Operating Officer Mr Nicholas Goh representing the University and DPCH Chief Executive Officer Associate Prof Dr Mohammad Tazli Azizan representing DPCH. QIU Registrar Mr Muhammad MG Omar was also present at the ceremony.

The signing of the MoU was witnessed by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, with state Communications, Multimedia and NGOs executive councillor Hasnul Zulkarnain Abdul Munaim and other state dignitaries also in attendance.

DPCH, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Perak State Government of Perak,  oversees the various ICT projects implemented within the state. It is also is the promoter for the development of ICT and knowledge-driven activities in the state.

The two parties agreed to initiate joint projects involving collaborative works such as organising training programmes, seminars, workshops and conferences with the purpose of mutually elevating their knowledge and skills.

QIU and Digital Perak will also be sharing infrastructure resources in content development through media production and broadcasting, education and technology

At the same time, the parties agreed to initiate joint research or projects that would bring benefits to both parties as well as the underprivileged communities and the environment.

Congratulations to both parties on this successful partnership and we look forward to great achievements in the future!
