The Foundation in Science programme is a three term programme tailored to equip the students with the necessary knowledge and skills for them to successfully enrol into a range of degree programme of their choice. The programme offers elective courses, enabling students to have more options before deciding on their career pathway.

The Foundation in Science programme brings your subject knowledge and skills up to required level to move into either a physical, computer and biological science based course. Core science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics form the main thrust of this foundation programme with students having the options to choose relevant subjects based on their career pathway. This provides the students with an early exposure on subjects relevant to their choice of degree programmes, helping them familiarise and develop scientific, theoretical and practical skills essential for them to start off their specific degree programmes. Students will also be given an opportunity to develop life skills through subjects such as Critical Thinking, Interpersonal Communication and Frontier Studies among others that will make them more adaptive, confident and a team player.

The students’ progress is monitored through regular assessments and the academic staff is always at hand to guide students through the transition to the degree level programmes. By the end of the programme, foundation students will be ready to embark upon their chosen field of study in the science and technology disciplines, provided they have achieved the minimum standards set for their respective programmes.
