The Diploma in Early Childhood Education programme prepares students to become qualified Early Childhood Educators who contribute to the first phase of children’s formal education.

This programme is committed to providing students with the fundamental knowledge, skills and competencies in stimulating young children’s physical, social skills, emotional, cognitive and creative development.

Our programme integrates the education theories and best practices to enhance students’ ability to design and implement appropriate learning activities for young children. In addition, our classes are taught by faculty members with professional experience in Malaysian education landscape.

This Diploma programme prepares students to become educators of young children in a variety of academic settings. Our students are trained to assess children's learning development of multiple backgrounds, and to promote healthy and nutritional diet to the children.

Besides that, our students also learn how to communicate and collaborate with children and caregivers, and how to establish and manage a child care centre.

Examinations Requirements
Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) Pass with credits in any three (3) subjects
Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) Minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any one (1) subject
Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) Pass with a minimum grade “Maqbul
Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3  in Early Childhood Education field / SPM Pre-School Pass with at least one (1) credit
Certificate in Early Childhood Education (Level 3 KKM) or its equivalent Pass with a minimum grade score of 60%
Certificate in other fields (Level 3 KKM) or its equivalent Pass
Other Qualifications Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia

3 intakes in each academic year

 

Mode of Study: Full-time and part-time

 

Duration
Full-time: 2 1/2 years.
Part-time: 4 years.

Assessment: 
Students embark on Continuous Competency – Based Assessment that aims at capturing and measuring their knowledge, skills and dispositions in a course of study. The Continuous Competency – Based Assessment component constitutes 60% of formative assessment and 40% summative assessment. The assessment component can be one or a combination of assignments, quizzes, case studies and project reports.
